ZTE A2017 passes through TENAA, might be the Axon 2
ZTE looks to have another high end smartphone in development that might be heading to the Chinese market soon. A handset sporting the model number ZTE A2017 has been spotted passing through China’s TENAA regulatory agency today, revealing a good look at its internal specifications. The same model was spotted in a GFXBench listing back in March.
Delving right on into the specifications reveals a 5.5-inch smartphone with a QHD (2560×1400) resolution OLED display. The handset also boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal memory with a microSD card expansion slot. There is also a 20 megapixel rear camera, 8 megapixel front camera, a fingerprint scanner, a USB Type-C port, and a 3,140mAh battery, complete with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on board.
A look at the pictures also reveals a power button and volume rocker on the right-hand side, the fingerprint scanner is placed on the back, and there’s what appears to be a stereo front facing speaker design at the top and bottom too. The smartphone measures 154 x 77 x 9.8mm and weighs 175 grams.

Clearly this is a high-end handset, and judging by the look of it, this could well be the successor the the ZTE Axon. Last year, a selection of ZTE Axon models made their way to the US market, so we may see something similar from the A2017.
