ZTE Axon 10 Pro is one of the best priced flagships on the market
The new ZTE Axon 10 Pro wisely enters the crowded market by distinguishing itself with features that could rival top-tier smartphones without the premium price tag.
In our Axon 10 Pro review a couple of months ago, we praised it for its luxurious build quality, stellar hardware, and near-stock Android experience. Even though the market it chose to dip itself into has one of the most competitive landscapes, the Axon 10 Pro stands out with its aggressive price point.
When the Axon 10 Pro launched, a key aspect was missing from ZTE’s agenda. At first, a United States release date was unfortunately absent. Frankly speaking, here in the U.S., there aren’t that many options for those wanting a well-rounded premium smartphone at an affordable price.
Thankfully, that’s all about to change. ZTE is set to release the Axon 10 Pro in the U.S., and at an even lower cost than its European brethren, starting at a mere $549.
That’s unexpected given how big of a punch this phone is packing. Just take a look at these specs.
Under the hood, there’s the latest Snapdragon 855, up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 6.5-inch AMOLED display, a whopping 4100mAh battery, a triple camera setup – wide, ultrawide, and telephoto. You’ll start with Android 9 for now, but ZTE promised to upgrade it to Android 10 later this year.
These specs are already beyond what you find in other competitors, and yet, there’s more. With the Axon 10 Pro, you’ll get wireless charging plus support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ fast wired charging. The incredible performance stems from the help of an AI engine, and the software experience only deviates from stock Android when genuine value can be added. In terms of security, the Axon 10 Pro features the in-display fingerprint sensor that you come to expect from a high-end smartphone. There’s also dual SIM card support, and in case you don’t need both slots, you can instead insert a microSD card (up to 2TB).
That’s it with all the internal jargon. Don’t worry, the outside is just as impressive.
The design – from the elegantly curved glass to the nearly full-screen display – definitely steals a couple of glances. Despite its thin profile, the Axon 10 Pro has an extremely solid build quality. This goes without saying, but the ZTE Axon 10 Pro is affordable, not cheap.
Sure, this is indeed a competitive market landscape, and there are choices available. But, the Axon 10 Pro sets itself apart by being one of the most well-rounded smartphones we’ve laid on hands-on. To finally see it come to the U.S. at such a surprisingly low price point is more exciting, to say the least.
ZTE will be selling the Axon 10 Pro for $549 for the 8/256GB model and $599 for the 12/256GB model. It’s going to be unlocked straight out of the box too, so you can pretty much use it on any GSM carrier including AT&T and T-Mobile.
If you’re interested in getting yourself an Axon 10 Pro, you can do so by checking out either ZTE’s official website, B&H Photo or Newegg.
The official release date is Friday, September 6th, but you can pre-order the Axon 10 Pro in the meantime.
